"Settle Petal" comes to Pelican's Nest

Childhood development expert Jan Murray recently visited our centre to help enlighten parents and staff about "Being a Toddler".

We had an excellent turn-out for this evening event with staff, parents and friends-of-friends all eager to hear Jan's words about this complex stage of life! Jan spoke of strategies and suggestions to approach  a number of  areas nominated as the greatest source of frustration by parents- eating, sleeping, toileting and tantrums! Jan spent a great deal of time adressing questions and encouraged the audience to participate freely.

It was unanimously decided that Jan shall be invited back on a regular basis to discuss different developmental issues.

Following the two hour session the group enjoyed light refreshments and networked with a view to supporting one another in their role as parents. This social aspect is always the most important facet of the events we organise- helping our parents to discover new friends is an extremely satisfying part of our role as carers for the whole family.
